New „Rainstar“from the styrian rainmaker

The Austrian Bauer Group, with headquarters in Voitsberg, Styria, has become the world market leader with its Rainstar irrigation machines in the last 40 years. Now Bauer presents the Rainstar E55 XL, which was designed on the basis of the E55 and is available now with even larger pipe dimensions. With a pipe retraction it is possible to irrigate up to 7,7 hectares, with an installation even up to 15,4 hectares.

From South America to the Ukraine you can find pivot and linear systems, but also drum irrigation machines like the Rainstar. All in all, about 2,5 Mio hectares are irrigated with irrigation machines from Bauer worldwide. The product range from Bauer ranges from fully automatic pivot and linear systems, over to classic irrigation systems like pipe systems and solid set systems.

Rainstar E55 XL

The new model is a continuation of the Rainstar E55 and has larger pipe dimensions. The maximum pipe dimensions are 125 mm x 740 m and 140 mm x 560 m, compared to this the E55 is available with pipe length of 460 m, 620 m und 650 m. The pipe diameter can vary between 120 to max. 140 mm.

Ultra modern and sustainable drive

Due to their size and high weight, these machines are either available with pneumatic or hydraulic brakes. As far as the drive technology is concerned the new Rainstar works with the same reliable drive like all the machines of the Rainstar E-series. The required retraction speed is generated by the economy-radial-full-flow turbine TVR 60 and directly transmitted to the BAUER four speed gearbox. The drum is driven by an exact chain drive with laser manufactured tooth segments and a high strength 1 ½ inch quality chain.

„Due to the large outer diameter of the sprocket and the many individual chain teeth the retraction forces are optimally distributed over a very large area. This guarantees operational reliability and a long service life“, explains product manager Franz Peter Roll.

Compatible control unit

The retraction speed of the Rainstar E55 XL can be controlled via the ECOSTAR 4300 or by the new irrigation technology ECOSTAR 6000 with a variety of additional functions. Of course you can also control and manage this new machine via the most modern irrigation management SmartRain from BAUER.
